Management of Smart Spaces based on Heterogeneous IoT Networks

The infrastructure of today’s network is insufficient for our needs because a tremendous amount of traffic flow will be generated among a large number of heterogeneous devices, systems, and networks in the forthcoming future. The new Internet of Things requires an open platform capable of dealing with different technologies, communication protocols and sensor data bases.

We are currently working with the integration of different communications standards and physical devices to monitor and management smart spaces.

Architecture

On the other hand, we are developping an architecture for Wireless Sensor and Actuator Networks (WSAN) using the new standard Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). This architecture can be used as reference for the deployment of real and exible monitoring platforms based on Internet of Things (IoT) scenarios such as smart homes, making a multitude of tasks easier to the user.
